Painting with Watercolors - A New Workshop

Please join me at The Oklahoma Academy for Classical Art in Edmond, OK for a 9-hour watercolor workshop that will take place over three evenings and is designed for students who want to build a solid understanding of traditional watercolor materials and working methods.

During the first session, students will become familiar with watercolor paints, brushes, paper, palettes, mixing, swatching and the color wheel. We will explore washes, brush work, and basic handling of the medium.

In the second and third sessions, students will work from a still life arrangement.
Instruction will include drawing from life, transferring a preliminary drawing to
watercolor paper, selecting and organizing a color palette, and building a painting step by step through transparent layers.
